And they're off!!!

Black Dyke Band have been eagerly awaiting their annual trip to Lucerne, Switzerland to appear at the magnificent KKL concert hall in Lucerne. The concert hall (1800 seats) is one of the finest concert halls in the world. The Lucerne Hall, the Convention Centre with the auditorium, and the Museum of Art - the fourth largest in Switzerland - are also part of this sensational construction.

The bands programme features soloists Richard Marshall, Brett Baker, Katrina Marzella, Paula O'Malley and Dan Thomas with an appearance of the bands own "Girls of Brass".

This is the 165th 'Open', although the band have not competed at every one of the contests,   we have an unenviable record of wins and other prizes throughout the contests' history. Tonights rehearsal is at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham and we are looking forward to the challenge against the other competitors at the Symphony Hall tommorrow (Saturday) - wish us luck!
