The Yorkshire Youth Band enjoyed their first ever virtual course today supported by Geneva Group. The course was led by Prof. Nicholas Childs with principal players from the Black Dyke Band.

The Administrator Alison Childs commented “the course was musically challenging yet fun packed. We held sectionals, full band rehearsals, and two workshops led by Richard Marshall and Brett Baker on Motivational Practice in this pandemic and performance tips, not forgetting the extremely popular quiz led by Matthew Routley.”

The YYBB prepared music which included Strange New Worlds by Peter Graham and Sousa’s Liberty Bell. Black Dyke’s Musical Director commented “such was the success that we already have a date for our next course in March.”

The course presented virtually over Zoom to 50 young musicians and demand for places for the next course is already high!
